The purse is made according to a drawing of an extant purse from Dordrecht, published in Purses in Pieces. Its shape is quite iconic for 15th century, the shape of the flap was adjusted to match even later 15th century fashion.
The historical leather bag is made out of vegetable tanned cow leather combined with oil tanned leather on the outer pouchlets and lining of the front compartment. The purse closes by a brass buckle. Seams are mostly mashine sewn with a thick flax thread.
