Black medieval belt with decoration

The belt made of thick cowhide leather with brass buckle and strapend is decorated with simple hemispherical brass applications. This type of decoration is very typical of the 14th century and often appears in contemporary depictions (e.g.: https://pin.it/2W30XgU ) and finds (e.g. Egan & Pritchard 1991 p. 175).

This combination of buckle and strapend is dated by the maker to be between 1300 - 1500. The buckle is based on a find from Wroclaw and the strapend on a find from Gdańsk (Poland)

In total there are 23 pieces of applications on this belt.
